Home/Services/Elevator Phones/Elevator Phone Installation

Elevator phone installationInstalled, programmed, tested and monitored.

TELMOVE installs elevator emergency phones and the lines behind them, using your existing wiring wherever it is sound. Every installation is programmed, tested with the emergency call center to verify the location for dispatch, and monitored in the TELMOVE portal.

An elevator emergency phone has one job: when a passenger presses HELP, reach someone who can send help, and tell them exactly which building and which car. Getting that right takes more than mounting a box. It takes the right line, the right programming and a real test call. That is the complete job, and it is what TELMOVE installs.

When buildings call us

  • The phone company is retiring the copper line and the elevator phone needs a new line before it goes dead.
  • An inspection found a problem: no dial tone, no answer, the wrong number, or no location message.
  • The existing phone is defective or past its life and needs a replacement.
  • An elevator modernization or new building needs phones and lines in every car.
  • A property manager wants one provider for every elevator line across a portfolio.

Choosing the phone

If the elevator phone you have works, we keep it. If it does not, or the building needs to meet a newer code edition, TELMOVE has two phones of its own:

  • TECS-A+, a line-powered, hands-free voice phone for like-for-like replacements. $49.99 per month plus tax, no up-front cost, with a full parts and labor warranty. TECS-A+ details.
  • TECS-V, a visual emergency phone with a text display, YES / NO buttons and video, designed to meet ASME A17.1-2019 Section 2.27 and CBC 3001.2. Now accepting pre-orders; contact TELMOVE for pricing. TECS-V details.

Lines that keep working

Most installations use the building's existing internet. Where there is none, or the owner wants a separate path for life-safety lines, one TELMOVE cellular connection covers the building for 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 24, 32 or 48 elevator lines at $59.99 per location per month plus tax. See elevator phone line replacement and monitoring.

For elevator contractors and property managers

Many elevator service companies already refer and subcontract elevator phone work to TELMOVE. We schedule around your mechanics and inspections, document every line, and stay responsible for the phone line after the job is done. Property managers get one provider, one price per line and one hotline for every building.

Pricing in one line. $59.99 per elevator line per month plus local sales tax, no up-front cost for equipment or installation, price-locked 60-month term. See full pricing and terms.

Installation questions

How long does an elevator phone installation take?

It depends on the number of elevators and on access to the machine room and the cars. We schedule each building with you and your elevator contractor and give you a date before any work starts. Larger portfolios are scheduled building by building.

Do you need to run new wiring to the elevator car?

Usually not. We connect each elevator on its existing wiring wherever it is sound, and tell you up front if anything needs to be repaired.

Is there an installation charge?

No. With TELMOVE line service there is no up-front cost for equipment or installation. Line service is $59.99 per line per month plus local sales tax.

Will the phone meet code?

TELMOVE phones are designed to meet the applicable ASME A17.1 requirements, and we test every installation. Which code edition applies, and final approval, depend on the building and the authority having jurisdiction. We will help you check.

Can you install elevator phones in other states?

Yes. TELMOVE installs and supports elevator emergency phones nationwide.
