Copper phone lines are being retired, and the ones that remain keep getting more expensive. TELMOVE replaces the line behind each elevator emergency phone with a monitored TELMOVE line, keeps your existing phone and wiring, and stays responsible for it.
An elevator emergency phone is only as good as the line behind it. When the carrier retires the copper, the phone in the car still looks fine, right up until someone presses HELP. Replacing the line before that happens is the cheapest way to avoid a trapped passenger with no way to call, and a failed inspection.
How it works
Each elevator phone connects on its existing wiring to an analog port on TELMOVE-supplied equipment at the building. The call travels over the building's internet, or over an optional TELMOVE cellular connection, to the TELMOVE network and on to the number the phone is programmed to call. To the elevator phone, nothing changed: it still sees an ordinary phone line.

Why replace the elevator phone line if it still works?
Carriers are retiring copper lines area by area, and the prices on remaining lines keep rising. Replacing the line on your schedule avoids a dead elevator phone when the copper is cut, and can lower the monthly cost.
Can an elevator phone work over the internet or cellular?
Yes. The elevator phone connects to an analog port that behaves like a standard phone line, and the call is carried over the building internet or a TELMOVE cellular connection. Every line is tested with the emergency call center after installation.
What does elevator phone line monitoring include?
Every TELMOVE elevator line is monitored in the TELMOVE portal. We can also call into and out of the elevator for remote testing and maintenance, and provide call records for the previous 6 months on request.
Does this meet ASME A17.1?
TELMOVE elevator phone service is designed to support the two-way emergency communication requirements of ASME A17.1. Which code edition applies, and final approval, depend on the building and the authority having jurisdiction.
